Default Looking for a clear chip guard coating

I'm looking for a clear chip guard coating for my rocker panels that leaves a relatively smooth surface that blends well with the rest of the truck. I bought a can of Dupli-Color Rocker Guard spray and tested it on an old piece of sheet metal but it leaves a course finish that just isn't suitable. I see other brands are available but I don't want to experiment with a half dozen before finding a suitable product. Just wondering if someone knew of the good product that would do the trick. The truck is a Raptor and the wide tires fling a lot of stuff back into the side of the truck. Mud flaps and running boards catch a lot but some gets through.

If you really want to protect it, take it somewhere that can do a high end Paint Protective Film (PPF) like Xpel.

A $15.00 rattle can will do all I want. Even though it's an expensive truck, I'm not inclined to spend two or three hundred $ on plastic film.
