Default Left over oil?

I'm about to do my first oil change on my truck. 2011. New to me. My 5.0 holds according to the manual 7.7 qts. I am wondering should I buy 2 of the cheaper 5qt jugs and save the extra 2qt till the next oil change in 6 or so months, or should I just buy 1 5qt jug and 2qts for more money. Question is does it hurt the unused oil to be stored for that length of time.

Motor oil does not spoil. Just keep the jug capped & the unused oil will be good as gold for your next change.

Thanks guys. Just wondering if synthetic oil might degrade after being exposed to air. I will not worry any more?
