Check engine light - no fault codes
Hello all. I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I have a 2015 F150 5.0 supercrew. In the last month I have experienced a situation where I will be traveling at highway speed (65 - 80), and I try to set the cruise control. I immediately get a check engine light. The transmission downshifts from 6 to 5 and will not shift back to 6. When I lift off of the accelerator pedal, the truck slows abruptly as if the trans can't 'coast'. It also will not shift down past 3rd at a stop. It remains in this condition until I stop the engine for a couple of minutes, then restart. I have checked for DTCs and there are none in memory. I have driven with my code reader attached, and have not had any DTC set. (I have not had the reader attached when this condition has been live.) It has happened 3 times in the last few weeks.
If anyone has any insights, I would appreciate some guidance. Thanks for your input.

What sort of code reader do you use? I ask this because there are readers that simply don't have the capability to see all the faults. I bought an INNOVA unit last year and have used it on many vehicles, mostly friends, and have often times found things that their code reader missed.

Might be one of those lead frame issues. Good luck with that.

The site apparently uses cookies for searches, unlike Google which saves the actual words in the copied url. Sorry about that, it worked on my end until I shut my computer down.
Put the term "lead frame" in the search box. Scroll down the list of results. There's a bunch.

FYI
To those that are not familiar with the term "Lead Frame". The lead frame is plastic covered (Insulation) electrical conduit located inside your automatic transmission. It is accessible by removing the transmission fluid pan. Through it external connector, the lead frame provides electrical signals to internal components of the transmission.

Here's a good video. He covers some details of the symptoms.
