Jerky/shuddering braking despite new rotors

My mechanic friend returned my call and he said most likely the wheel bearings, we will be redoing the rear end as he said the diff probably needs attention too.

did you check the u-joints?

Yep, checked that. Have had bad u-joints before, and they always shake under acceleration, and sometimes deceleration. But never under deceleration alone. Regardless, I checked on it, and it is fine.

Next suggestion.
