Intermittent Starting Issues - Electrical Problem (?)
I've got a 2016 F-150 with EcoBoost 3.5L. I have begun experiencing starting problems. It has a 6-month-old interstate battery, so the battery is not an issue. The first time that it did this was about six weeks ago. Then, last Friday evening, It nearly left me stranded while I was out running errands. It simply will not start - no cranking, no clicking, no nothing. The problem is not with the ignition switch; the lights come on, the radio works, etc. It just will not crank at all. I thought that it might be a transmission interlock issue. So I tried moving the lever to N and back to P to see if that would do anything. The display then began flashing warnings for low oil pressure, high coolant temp, AdvanceTrac, and Hill Start Assist. Here's something else very odd: The outside temperature went to 50 degrees F. I'm in Florida. I hasn't been 50 degrees here in months. It finally did start and ran fine on the drive home, no warning lights, and everything appeared normal. I looked for codes after I got home and did not see anything. I took it to the local dealership yesterday (it started right up for me) where I purchased the truck new. They couldn't find anything, either.
Has anybody else seen this with their F-150? Any ideas???
