Default Intermittent hard start

I have a 5.0 2014 F150. Been having intermittent hard starts over the last 6 months. When it first started it seemed to be a battery issue so I replaced the battery. Still had same issue so I changed the starter. Seemed like that resolved it for a week but still the same issue. Some days it fires right up and some days it struggled to start. This morning it took like 4-6 seconds until it started up and I noticed when it did start up that my dash settings changed to “Trip A mileage” when it was on “miles to empty” when I last shut it off so this is why I think it’s electrical related. It has always started but some days it struggles.
any suggestions of where to start I’m all ears

When you say struggles to start, do you mean the starter cranks steady but long or starter slows a little?
My first thought is a poor ground cable from engine to battery or fender.
If it's cranking well have you inspected fuse 27?

have not inspected the fuse yet but will….
when I first turn the key it struggles, starter is slow then typically starts. Some days it starts right up though with no issues

I would look at the grounds to be sure they are clean and tight.
Fuse 27 i relocation is for the fuel pump module which should be addressed at some point but is not related to your problem with the starter.

My 13 started doing almost the same exact as you state.for about a month or so...........(at 450,000 km's)..........
I thought fuel pump so I would trigger the key on n& off @ least twice......Not sure it changed anything!!
Then 1 day it just plain wouldn't start........ (it did crank fine)
The next day after checking with these forums I checked the 20 amp fuse #27 in the fuse box on top of the rad..........Sure enough it showed the terminal on the fuse itself nearest the engine was burnt black & broken.NO connection!!
Popped in another fuse & walla it instantly starts & runs everyday now
My terminal in that fuse panel was not really burnt so I have not done the fuse relocation procedure as yet...But I will !!
That fuse controls 4-5 things but it has something to do with the instrument cluster readout & also the FPDM so it wasn't activating the fuel pump!! The no start !!
I ordered the fuse relocation kit from Amazon @ $8.00 canandian funds..
google fuse 27 relocation......It will tell you exactly how to do it & what it controls !!
Plz post back your solved fix.......It helps many others !!

Did you do the BMS reset when you swapped the battery?

You say the issue is intermittent, a fuse will not cause an intermittent problem. A fuse is either good or bad. Remember that in the future.

Glad you found the battery at the cause.
