If I can save even one person the time I spent on this......

Had a really annoying sqeak for a couple weeks. I could really hear it best when the rear slider was opened, and more so at low speeds, especially in parking structures where other noise is reduced. Tracked it down to the tailgate. Then further tracked it down to the passenger side, at the catch/lock. After a couple hours of searching, greasing, checking and removing and reinstalling the tailgate...it turns out I'm an idiot. If a fellow closes the tailgate firmly enough to actually latch both sides, it won't squeak

Oh well, at least I was well stocked with frosty beverages while I was sorting it out.

Thanks for posting your solution. I had a similar issue with my half doors and found closing them at the to worked.

Wow, I struggled with this yesterday...out of the blue I had this horrible squeak from the bed. Opened and closed the tailgate and it went away magically.
