Where you live may affect your overall mileage. My 2000 5.4 SC 4X4 was still running good @ 130,000 miles. The rust from the Ohio and Michigan road salts was taking its toll tho. Part of the crossmembers had gone away. I got rid of it before severe problems arose.

For summer here in Texas, I run 5w-30 mobil1, but for winter i switch to 5w20 mobil1 (always full synthetic) anything 2005 and newer from Ford is designed to run at LEAST a semi synthetic oil, preferably full synthetic if you can.

Y'all boys have done great. I'm at 93,000 on my '02 5.4 Supercrew. Wondering about the debated transmission flush... It's clear now, looks like it might have been done by original owner, but I don't know for sure. It had 47,000 when I bought it in '08.

171000 miles on my 04. Only thing I have done is change fluids and spark plugs. Also greased the slip yoke. No real problems. Its time for new wheel bearings and brake....just normal maintenance stuff.

I run mobil 1 0/40 motor oil, royal purple 75/140 rearend gear oil, valvoline transmission fluid with lucas transmission fix added at change(130k) and prestone all makes and models antifreeze.

Been a damn good truck!

I have a 1999 F-150 XLT with 240,678. I live in South Florida and replaced the trans. at about 110,000 miles. Other than that, all is great. I agree maintenance is key. I changed to synthetic oil at about 175,000. Seems to be a good choice.

241k on my 99 supercab. Maint is the key and not driving like you stole it. I've owned lots Fords and if ya take care of em they last a really loooong time. My parents just traded in their 00 Taurus for a 13. It had 367k on it and still drove great.

I have 201,000 on my 1996 XL. I must admit, I haven't taken the best care of it until it needed taking care of. Radius arm bushings twice, rotors twice U-joints once. Regular oil and transmission fluid changes I do myself. I made the mistake of letting a really small water leak go for way too long and ended up having to replace the timing cover, oil pan gasket and water pump.

04 5.4 4x4. 202000. Just had tranny rebuilt, just because I broke my OD band.. other than that just general repairs. Nothing serious. Preventative maintenance is key!
