Default brakes squeek/brake dust

i have a 04 f150 and i have noticed that my brakes are starting to squeek. i have also noticed that i am getting a lot.. and i mean a lot of break dust on the front rims.. is it due to the bad brakes? any suggestions on replacements or any ideas would be very helpful.

hearing the brakes squeek makes the truck decrease in value..lol

The squeaking may be the wear indicators, they make the squeak to let you know the brakes are nearing the end of their life. I hear ceramic brakes don't leave brake dust on your rims.

Sounds like it's time for new pads. Pull off the rims and check. Some pads have built in "squealers" which are basically little strips embedded into tha pad material to cause noise when the pads are worn. More break dust develops as well at the end of the pad life, and I have also heard that ceramics do not leave dust. If everything checks out with the pads, keep in mind that sometimes properly services disk brakes will sqeual when water or other contaminants gets in.
