Default How-to on adding pins to connectors?

I'm trying to retrofit a powerlift Lariat tailgate onto my XLT. The tailgate, which I got for the step, is in place with manual latches from my original tailgate. With help from others here and on f150gen14, I've done a lot of research and learned a lot about circuits, harnesses and wiring diagrams to get the electric latches and powerlift motor working.

The rear harness (13A409) on my XLT lacks the conductors in connector C432 required. Based on my research I was confident that replacing mine with the one from the salvaged Lariat that was the source of the tailgate. That harness would enable me to make most of the connections to C432. I'd have to add 12V power and wouldn't get remote release, but that's okay with me.

I was correct in that C432 on the new harness (ML3Z-13A409-M) meets me needs. Unfortunately, the taillight (LED vs halogen) and 400W AC outlet connections are different to the point that the harness won't work, and I'm not willing to undertake those as a project. It's just not worth it. Now I'm back to adding pins to C408 and C432 on my 13A409 harness.

I watched a few videos on YouTube on how to repair/revise connectors. FordTechMakulocu has a good one for disassembling a connector to get the pins out, but I also need to know how to attach new pins and where to buy them. (I don't even know what I'm searching for.) I saw a post on a truck forum by someone who adds new circuits on (I think) her Ford truck for fun. I think she's an engineer? She'd be a good source of information but I can't find where I saw it.

Can anyone provide references to information I can use to learn how to do that?
