I have a 2014 3.7L V6 Ford F150 STX 2WD. I have just hit 130,000 miles on this bad boy. When I was recently adjusting my lights I noticed something that looked strange. I do not do much auto mechanic work outside of the basics. Can you please take a look at the attached picture and let me know what this may be. I am not sure if this is a porblem that needs to be addressed immediately, or if it can wait until my next time at the dealer. It looks like one of the plugs here is corroded or oiled up. I am just not sure. Any ideas? This is to the left of the engine block btw. Right is black while left seems normal.
Thank you in advance.
Also, you don't have to wait until it's convenient to visit your dealership. You can take it to any reputable mechanic.
You also ask if it is something that can wait..... is your next visit to the dealership planned for January 2023? Non of us know what you mean by putting it off.
It's difficult for me to tell but it looks like the seal may be weeping a bit..... could be a simple as that. Could be something else though, obviously.
Not a big deal for me to head to the dealership. I'll post an update when I get it figured out. I was just looking to see if this was something another member ran across. Thanks guys.
