I can't give u an honest opinion on that but what kind of lift do u have that requires to 2wd drag link?! I get why it works and as long as it aligns up than I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Funny you should ask about safety of the connection. Everything about your truck was designed by Ford as a total package, including the front end. Fabtech has been making lift kits for many years and has done a decent job of fully engineering their products to fit each vehicle. That said, one inch of thread should be more than enough mating to make a stable connection. I have welded steering components on Jeeps and trucks for years but they were all off-road only vehicles. None ever broke but.......70 mph on the highway? Just sayn'
