heater not blowing hot on long trips

Default heater not blowing hot on long trips

hi i have a 2001 ford f150 that has a wierd heater problem when i drive on long trips (from texas to michigan) the heater stops blowing hot air and the a/c stops blowing cold i am not a ford guy and i have no idea what could cause this any suggestions would be helpful

It stops moving actual air, or stops blowing the temperature you've selected? If it stops blowing the right temp, start with checking coolant level. If it stops blowing air completely, its probably a blower motor or a mess of other things...

Am assuming he is talking about the blower motor, check blower relay and ground from the blower motor resistor. Weather in heat or AC the blower should move the air.

no the motor works fine it keeps blowing but on long trips it stops blowing hot air or cool air and everyday normal driving they both work fine its just when i am on long trips it stops working like something is overheating and then when i park it overnight it works fine again

sounds like a blend door issue

thats what i was thinking but what controls it why would it only work right sometimes
