Default Low hum when going up a steep incline

I have a low hum when I am going up a steep incline and if I accelerate quickly. I do not notice it at any other ime. I checked the trans fluid and there's no metal shavings or foul smell.

What could the malfunction be?

Does it sound like the old 4 bbl carbs when the secondaries opened up? If so, it is normal.

No this is not normal! I have had the truck for almost five years and this just started.

If I didn't know better I would say the transmission is slipping when under load (accellerating, steep hills)

check your rear end fluid may be low that could be the huming noise and the slipping could also be a bad coil pack it with spudder and feel almost like a tranny slipping

How can I determine if I have a bad coil pack?
