Yesterday while riding along with my AC on trying to off set the 100 degree + heat here in East Texas, I believe what I referred to as the Heater/AC Blend door started opening and closing when it would happen the air would stop coming out of the panel vents and would come of the defrost vents. In about a 15 mile ride this happened 10 to 12 times. Any help on why and possible remedy would be appreciated.

First ck all the vacuum lines even the ones behind the battiery, ck pvc valve and hoses.

Had this happen in my Explorer. Cost $500.00 to fix it.

On some vehicles, the gear that opens and closes the blend door is made from a cheap plastic (99-04 Grand Cherokees are notorious for this) and will break causing the air to default to defrost. If all your vacuum lines look good, this may be something worth checking out.

Where you ever able to find a repair for this problem? I have a 97 F150 that just started the same problem.
