Default Fuel filter replacement for 2013 Ford F150 Ecoboost

I just took my 2013 Ford F-150 Ecoboost into the dealership today for an oil change, and was told that I should look at getting a fuel filter replacement since my truck is at 70K+ miles and there isn’t a record that it has been done in the last 20K miles. I’ve declined to get it done now and decided to do some research before I do. From what I am reading, there is no separate inline filter for newer trucks like mine. Is this true? Why would the dealer suggest something like this? Is this just a ploy to get more money from a dumb consumer? Please help me figure this one out. Thanks!

Obviously that dealer either employs idiots or thieves, in either case I'd suggest you find a new dealer. The fuel filter is one piece with the fuel pump inside the fuel tank. It requires no servicing.

Thank you! I had a gut feeling that I was being taken advantage of, and I’m glad I actually listened to it before saying yes.

Did the dealer give you a price estimate to replace the filter?
