Default Intermitent Hard Start and Occasionally Dies

95 F-150, 5.8, AOD, 4x4, XLT, long bed, x-cab, dual tanks.

Been having issues with starting. I just got a fuel pressure gauge today and have been testing some. AIC valve has been replaced and TPS voltage chacked/adjusted within spec while waiting for gauge to get here.

Intitial turn of key, hardly any pressure. Pressure builds each time you turn key off/on again. Fuel pressure at spec when running, regulator tests seem to check out ok, get a bump up with throttle and a nice jump when I remove the vac line.

Pressure would immediately drop after turning of key. Pulled regulator because I couldn't crimp any lines to isolate where the problem might be, braided and steel lines.

Regulator seemed ok. I came up with the bright idea to pressurize each side where the regulator mounts to see if there was any obvious leaks. Using air pressure. Fuel rail side seemed ok. Side going back to tanks obviously leaking. After blowing back through to tank a few times it seemed to seal up and now it holds pressure after I've gotten regulator back on and system pressured up.

Does this make any sense? Any comments or advice on what might be going on?

Thanks Much,

Toby
