Front Drivers Side Brake Hanging Up

Hello Everyone,

I have a 2010 F150 XLT 5.4 edition. About 8 months ago I replaced the front rotors/calipers/hose/pads - and everything's been great. A few weeks ago I made the mistake of using my parking brake so ..... this past weekend I replaced the rear shoes, parking brake assembly, rotors, pads (not really relevant to this problem). :(

So my truck has been pulling to the left .. brake dust is present....No noticeable movement in my wheel bearing, Front ball joints are new.
Front wheel does have a leak in the seal ... so it's been wearing pretty unevenly .. tires only have 15-20% tread left so I haven't been concerned. I'm positive the tire wearing unevenly is part of the reason my truck is pulling left .. but not sure about the brake dust. If the brake fluid was contaminated, I would know. If the master cylinder was bad ... assuming it would effect more than just my left brake.

Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Graham

First question...did you install the pads in front correctly? Its easy to mix up the inners and outers and a lot of guys are doing this.
(theres a few threads on this)
Look at your rotors through your wheels...is the brake wear even across the face of the rotor or does it look like only part of the pad is making contact?

What usually happens is a person installs the inners on one side and the outers on the other.
Then one side will wear unevenly (and shoot out lots of brake dust).

@ dannofx4 - Thanks for your reply. The brake wear appears to look even across the face of the rotor although I did clean my wheels up pretty good yesterday. I had the fronts done by a pretty reputable garage because when my caliper hoses failed my brakes seized up and took it to my rotors pretty good.
