I have a 2008 F150 5.4 3v. Engine has about 230k on it, and I am in the middle of doing a timing job on it, good ole cam phasers. While looking things over, I discovered a hole and crack in the frame. This is located on the top of the frame looking down between the engine and the dipstick tube/ AC condenser behind the back of the engine. What do you think, worth looking into getting fixed or time to send her up the river? The hole is about dime size and the crack runs in the picture to the right. Thank you!!
Jebus...that's pretty bad. It's what you CAN'T see that I'd be worried about. And there really isn't a practical/inexpensive repair possible. Maybe it is time to salvage what you can and then TAKE to the salvage yard the remains...
I agree I think. I cleaned that area up more and that hole doubled in size and I found two other small holes near it. That whole top section is rotting out. Thanks guys.
