Default First maintenance / oil change?

Hi!

I got my 2016 XL EcoBoost 3.5L last year, and just a few days ago it started to alarm about the oil needing to be changed. I checked the oil life, and it's at 5%. Should I have the maintenance done soon? I am currently at 6,500 miles over 13 months.

My apologies for this basic question as this is my first truck. Thanks in advance for any pointers....

Read your owner's Manual. I believe they recommend Oil Changes Less than 10K miles, 12 months, or when your IOLM sensor indicates a change is needed. I've heard the Ecoboost engines "like" oil changed more often than Ford Recommends. 13 Months is too long. I'd get it in next chance you can.

Thank you Greg Barry.

The F-150 'maintenance', what is included aside from the oil change? Is there some sort of standard multi-point vehicle inspection/check done?

I typically search for a coupon to take to my dealer (can usually find on owner.ford.com. "The Works" typically runs me $39.95+tax and covers Oil, Filter, Battery Check, top off fluids, tire rotation, and a car wash (optional). Can't hardly do that myself for that cost. That coupon states up to 5 quarts (3.5 eco holds 6), but dealer never charges me extra. Hope that helps.

I found the works coupon on the website but it does not have a price. Most dealers do it for $ 39?

Ive been driving Fords for 49 years and I would never let my "first" oil change go for 6500 miles. The warranty oil change mileage on my '69 Fairlane said 5000 miles and
I ve rarely gone over that.
I know that some mfg say 7500 miles now but I just "cant" let it go that long😉

That said, is there an "oil alert" on my 2017 F150 5.0 SCrew XLT ?
I bought it as a lease return back in April with new oil at 21000km. I now have it set in "miles"
I know the odd other car I've owned had such a thing..but I hever got there before I changed it.??
