Default Ways to fix exhaust leak?

After getting my exhaust re-done a while back my truck has developed an exhaust leak where one of the new welds were done. Being the position of the pipe and inability to properly weld it I can't seem to fix it or find someone that can fix it. My question is what are some tried and trusted ways to fix an exhaust leak? I've tried a few of the cheap kits from the auto parts stores with little to no luck.

Have you tried mixing some JB weld and coating over the crack with it?

One cheap trick I've seen a mechanic use is to take a bandclamp or two and a can of soda. Drink the soda, and cut the top and bottom off the can, and cut it vertically up the side, so you can slide it around the exhaust pipe. Wrap the aluminum can around the leaking portion of the exhaust, clamp it down with the band clamps and presto, no exhaust leak. It goes without saying to try this when the exhaust is cooled off.

They make this new tape that would work for you. Can`t remember what it is called but it is sticky on both sides. It cures and bonds to it self. It does say once it is cured you can`t take it off so keep that in mind.It is good for high temps also. My kid got in a wreck last summer and his exhaust pipe had a hole in it. I used this stuff and cut a vegetable can with two hose clamps to cover it. I didn`t want him and his friends dieing from the exhaust fumes before I could fix it right.
