Default F150 2001 4wd Transfer Case Fluid

Hello, I am getting ready to change the fluid in my transfer case but I don't understand the owner manual. It states that it holds 2 qts of transfer case fluid and then later it states 3.7 pints of front axle lubricant.

Where in the world does the axle lubricant go? Do both of them go in the transfer case together?

The transfer case gets XL 12 transfer case fluid, the rear axle gets 75w140 synthetic, front axle gets 80w90, you can drain the front diff,, just make sure to remove the fill plug first. You have to remove the rear cover to drain the rear diff.
