Engaging 4x4 Not starting in P but does in N..
2000 F150 Crew cab.
4.6 litre.
Won't start in Park, but does in Neutral.
I reason it could be a safety lock out switch, which leads me to the great difficulty in engaging the 4x4 lever, I cannot shift it, If I apply more pressure I feel I may break the lever, or my wrist....
Can I adjust, grease, replace, refurbish any part in particular ?
Yet another problem, is the digital display of the kilometers, and radio screen is intermittent ....
Anyone I can pay to troubleshoot and repair ,rather than go to a Ford agency and have parts unnecessarily replaced. ?
I live in the Okanagan, on Anarchist Mountain Osoyoos BC.
Thanks .
Steve.

Thanks Sgtblues.
I've been looking at various blogs threads and YouTube videos, and yes, that's where I will be checking.
Also the gear shift lever 30 Torque screws and the plastic carriers the shift lever sits on.
Normally I would be able to do tbese things myself, but 8 have a debilitating illness, I'm not yet for enough to do the work.
I'll ask around in the area and see if a shade tree mechanic can help.
Thanks for your reply.
