Cylinders 5,6,7,8 not firing
Hope someone can help...PLEASE, Have a 2004 f150 Lariat with a 5.4L Triton in it.
truck has 222,000 miles and I have always taken care of it...ALWAYS
Ironically I was pulling into the dealer to look at a left over and was going to trade my 04 in. I was pulling into the parking spot at the dealer and the engine light came on and the started running really rough...almost stalling.
Ran a scan and it said cylinders 5,6,7,8 misfiring. Also said code P0022 timing over retarded in Bank 2. Also had codes for 02 Sensor, Running rich Bank 2 Running Lean bank 1
So my common sense side decided I would try to rule out a few things. I tried Swapping a coil pack from Bank one and still got the same codes for cylinders 5678. I read alot of issues with the VCT solenoid. Can anyone tell me if this could be the issue to cause all four cyclinders on bank 2 to misfire??
Thanks

Could be a clogged oil passage but more than likely you are on to something with the vct being bad. If you have the originals chances are it wouldn't be a bad idea to change them since they are prone to fail.
