Cylinder Misfire disappeared

Cylinder Misfire disappeared
I have a 2000 f150 4.6l.
The truck was running pretty sluggish for a couple days and then the CEL came on. Scanned it and it was a cylinder 1 misfire, which it clearly was.
I brought it in a few days later and by the time I got it in the CEL was off and the truck ran smoothly all of a sudden. They tock it for a test drive and scanned it again and couldn't find anything.
This is the second time in a few months that this has happened and I'm really curious as to how a misfire could magically disappear, any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I can't impress enough how much I despise intermittent problems. It more or less has to be an electrical issue with it being intermittent like that. My first thought would be the ignition coil. Easiest way to check that would be to swap the #1 coil with any other coil and see if the misfire follows it the next time the CEL comes on.

Could be some trash got past the filter and partially blocked the injector.
