Default Cooling system issues question for a pro

Hello all,

I'm having a multi-year issue with my 2018 f-150 lariat where the engine fan runs hot and the coolant temp gauge keeps rising. I first took it in to the dealership in May of '24 and my records say they installed JL3Z 8501 B: pump say -water. It didn't have a problem again until Dec '25 and they installed HL3Z 18472 E and F: Hose -heater water. 2 months (Feb '26) later the same issue came back and they installed JL3Z 8501 B :Pump say - water and HL3Z 8590 A :seal. At this visit they were about to charge me until I asked them to check their records and they found it was under warranty. 2 months (April '26) later the issue started up again. I picked up my truck from the dealership (today) after paying just over $500 for them to install HJ3Z 8507 D :gasket -water pump and HJ3Z 8527 B :seal. By the time I got my truck home today (about 15min of driving) the engine fan was running hot and the "engine coolant over temp" warning was flashing. The engine smelled hot like something was burning. I popped the hood and it looked like fluid was all over the engine. A pool was also underneath on the ground.

First of all, should they have already replaced the water pump gasket and seal that I was charged for when they installed the water pump assembly just 2 months prior? Also, am I just getting fleeced here or is this a stroke of bad luck...of both?

I would sincerely appreciate any experts weighing in with inform action I can take back to them next week. It also sounds like I should have it towed back in correct?

Thank you,
Rob

unless they are going to provide any work for free/warranty/goodwill (given history described), i would keep it away from dealers and get to a good independent mechanic/shop.
