A/C Heater Blower Motor

I've looked at a lot of threads and haven't found my specific issue so I'm giving this a shot.

2012 F150 XLT 3.5 EcoBoost 91k miles.

When the control is turned on I hear a whining sound from the blower with no air being pushed. I pulled the blower motor, tested it, it works on all 4 speeds outside the housing. When I reinstalled, held the motor in place and had someone operate the control. The motor worked until it was fully seated. When fully seated the motor stopped spinning, making the binding / wining noise again.

I cant see anywhere in the housing where the fan is rubbing but the fan has rub marks close to the base... those could be from me holding the motor in place though.

Could the motor be going bad and not able to cycle the fan under pressure in the housing or somthing with the resistor? Any ideas?

I can post a video if it will help.

Thanks in advance.

i think the motor is going bad and doesn't have the strength anymore to cycle under pressure

If the motor worked outside it should work inside, so when it fully seats and is fastened it has to be coming into contact with something. It shouldn't be under "pressure" of any kind, it just spins and moves air in a hollow cavity.
