Breather Location
I'm replacing the PCV valve on my 96 F-150 6 cylinder 4.9L and I figured I should replace the breather filter while I'm at it but the trouble is, I can't find it! Everything I've heard says that it should be inside the air filter box, but there's no breather filter in there, and no place for one to go that may have been removed and not replaced. There is a line that runs from the air intake to the top near the oil filler cap; is that the breather tube? Is it possible that my truck doesn't have a breather filter or is it just in a different place?
