I am about to get my transmission serviced after breaking 100k miles. What would be considered the best auto tranny fluid for a 2006 4.6L?

Go full synthetic. You'll love it. Got over 120,000 on the same fluid and it's clear and smells like new.

Serviced mine last weekend with Valvoline Merc V. Have been using this for the last two filter services and each time the fluid has come out looking much the same as when it went in (not bad considering it's a 30,000 mile interval). Valvoline also claims on the packaging that it is the recomended Ford transmission fluid.
