It's all in the presentation! My wife wants me to build her a greenhouse / storage shed for this spring as her birthday present. So I'm looking at framing nailers for ME now!

I'm told it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission when faced with such situations.

I have an electric 1/2 drive impact that runs obviously on 110v with 400lbs of torque. saves me the hassle of having to connect the compressor and lay out the air hose.

Theres a lot of exaggeration on here about needing a massive sized compressor. I use a 6 gallon pancake for daily stuff and a 10 gallon for my air tools - framing nailers etc. all run off 110v.

There are NO exaggerations only decades of experience coupled with tool requirements. It's easy to dismiss when one is just a weekend warrior.

I think you are missing the point....I don’t hassle with anything and judging by the other gents garage he doesn’t either. I have a 50ft. Hose reel mounted off the ground at ceiling height with a 25ft. Extension draped over the handle of the compressor. My compressor stays aired up all the time. There is no exaggeration of needing a larger capacity air compressor, I know that a 4gal or 6gal isn’t worth the metal it’s made of...again just my two cents.

By the way I bought two batteries for my craftsman cordless drill and it was close to $100 plus or minus. Add that to the cost of your 1/2in impact and I’m sure that we are within $100. Not including the cost of the TWO compressors you have.

I have this one and LOVE it! I do mechanic work on the side and use it alot, its not just to pump up a tire here and there it gets used!

I have this impact and can remove all four of my tires without it coming on.

You're amazing!!! Funny how people post things seeking others points of view in order to determine how they may wish to proceed only to have some, like yourself get all angry and mad and start trashing on those you don't agree with.

Note* My electric impact doesn't take batteries...and in 30 years I have never purchased batteries for my cordless drill. Why anyone would pay $100 for two batteries when they can usually get the batteries, charger and the drill for $110.

Have a nice day!

my response wasn’t to insult or put you down. But hey it’s the internet and sometimes things get lost through text. Hope you have a great day!

EDIT: And I am human and made the mistake of thinking your impact was cordless. Again...my bad.

My only suggestion is , when looking to buy an air compressor, don’t be fooled by the advertised horsepower, or the size of the tank, if you are running air tools like grinders, polishers, etc.the higher the CFM (at 90 PSI), the better .
Any oil lubricated compressor that provides 12 or higher cfm @ 90 psi is suitable for medium duty use.
I don’t use air tools in my shop, bought a Makita MAc2400, it is alright for my small shop, very compact but powerful enough, the California Air is another decent one to look at so is Rolair.
