Best 110v air compressor for garage?

Thanks, I got the compressor long before I ever even thought of adding the tire machine to my equipment list, I got it knowing I can't stand having a compressor constantly hammering while I'm working, my ears ring enough from years of loud music lol.

The one I got was purchased with those requirements in mind, 14.6 CFM @ 40 PSI; 12.8 CFM @ 100 PSI utilizing a 60gallon tank. I also operate a tire machine with bead blaster. I suppose those that want to barely get by running down lugs @ 100-150 ft lb and listening to that compressor hammer constantly then yeah, go cheap. The price difference was easy to absorb knowing I might be pulling down 300-500ft lb's working on suspensions etc.
I can't stand having a compressor constantly hammering just to get by and for only a little more I don't have to. It'll likely be the last compressor I ever buy as it won't have to work so hard or as much.
I mentioned before it's easy to feed a single phase 220V compressor if one has a clothes drier, just make a pigtail like this. Drier currently plugged in, compressor plug hanging ready for use.

to each their own. I have a 7lug F150 and I can bust lugs all the way through each wheel....never had a air issue with that compressor. And I run my impact at 130psi. I use it for blowing out my brain razor, airing tires and a lot. I was on the fence of a 2 stage 220v but having the storage capacity of 36gallons I feel it isn’t necessary

i wasn't knocking what you have at all and i'm glad it works for you... i am actually impressed you don't have issues pulling off your 7lug... when i had a ~30 gallon 110v craftsman, it did the bare minimum of what i wanted it to do, but i couldn't take 1 6 lug wheel off without being quite a bit down on power by the last one... maybe you have a much better impact me
i never took it that way bro! I had a 4gallon de Walt that barely filled tires. I think it depends on the tool as well, the 3/4 monster my wife bought me from harbor freight busts lugs easy! Literally a couple of taps from the gun and the lugs cruise off the studs. If I had a 1/2in impact maybe it would struggle more, requiring more air to go through the gun making taking off the lugs a longer process and costing more air.
It would be nice to have a bigger tank and not listen to it when it does run, but I knew that sacrifice going into it.

P.S. While it's irrelevant, she's a car girl and loathes stock anything, she wanted custom wheels and tires and didn't want to take any chances of some pimple faced luber goober gouging her new wheels. Perhaps you could use that as an example/reason? "Honey I bought you new wheels and"......

My 2nd wife and I have a some what unique relationship, she has her company, I have my career, we share household expenses equally and what she has left is hers, and vice versa. We never have to ask each other for permission to buy something or argue over finances.
My first wife and I had a traditional relationship and it didn't work worth a damn obviously, hence the 2nd wife LOL.

One more bit of ammo you could use, the last time she needed tires she decided to get them from Sams Club on her business account, problem is they only want to mount the most expensive tires in her size calling it a safety issue.
Safety my ****, why does she need a tire rated for 117mph on a 4 cyl Ford Escape that ONLY does city driving?
Problem solved all the way around. Can also do side work for others to help pay for them. I can give you a hundred reasons to have your own machine and not one reason to not have it.
They weren't that expensive and they shipped from California, driver brought them inside my garage, just had to do some partial assembly. Here's a link if you decide to jump.
