Default baldwin oil filter b7449 replaces fl500s

I figured I'd post these since I couldn't find anyone else who has sooo this is the baldwin b7449 it is the replacement for the fl500s I decided to chop up an old one and see what it looked like and sorry bout the dirt I dropped it while cutting it open and I'm no pro on filters or anything but looks pretty good to me

Basic info that I know it has a coil spring, rubber anti drain back, 20 psi bypass, and has 46 pleats in the filter which roughly 207 inches of filter media, plus Clarcor is USA made so that's a plus

Baldwin make a great filter. I used them in a fleet of F150's and F250's for 10 years w/o any failures. Filter media is what sets one brand apart from the others. TKS for the pics

Sorry to re-open an old thread. Are there any concerns with the higher bypass rating on the Baldwin? My thoughts are the pump will force oil through the media regardless. Does the oil pressure gauge monitor oil pressure on the outflow side of the filter or the incoming side?

bypass only comes into effect when the media is completly full which usually is only possible if ur engine is on the way out or some sort of catostrophic failure or possibly if ur not changing ur filter at all lol....... the bypass is on the input side so hypothetically if you had 40 goin in and 20 ouing out itll open to even up the pressures the higher bypass is usually due to stronger media and higher media flow rates and center tube design ect nothing thats going to hurt the engine

btw this filter does not have silicone adbv and shouldnt be run multiple cycles

IIRC oil pressure is measured after the filter.

No thanks, I'll stick with tried and true Motorcraft oil filters.

Yea, I'll keep using the Motorcraft oil filters also, no reason to change actually.
