Anybody Going to Ignore OSS Recall 19S07?

My 2013 5.0 has 185K miles and there has never been a problem as described in the recall. I read one threat where someone got the programming update per the recall and then a few days later they began having problems Ford said was the lead frame. I know that Ford extended the coverage on the lead frame but the local service department told me that was up to 150K.

I'm thinking with 185K miles and never a transmission issue, and as of last year only driving her about 4K miles per year now, I'm going to ignore the recall and not tempt fate.

Anyone else whose truck is under the recall for the output speed sensor ignoring the recall?

I was told a very long time ago "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" I've lived by that motto successfully for the past 54 years. I am Not going to have anything reprogrammed, if there comes a time I'll do it my self. I have the equipment to do so (IDS)

P.S. Yes I got the recall letter also.

Thanks for the reply from a Ford tech. I didn't get that type of honesty (if it ain't broke, etc.) from the guys at the local dealer. They were stuck on my having to bring it in even though I had not experienced a problem in 185K miles and didn't want to discuss the option of my not bringing it in.

I am treading that water too with a 2013 5.0 that has been completely trouble-free. Never had a hiccup from the tranny. Biding my time and will watch the posts. For now I am on hold too and probably be overly sensitive to any new shift changing behavior.

My employer bought my 2011 F150 XLT with standard equipment. I have been caring for it meticulously with the company credit card ever since. I have never had a problem related to shifting into 1st gear unexpectedly. I came to this forum to see what others were thinking about this. I just bought this truck from my employer. I know every 254,000 miles on this vehicle so better to buy the devil you know, right? $1100. KBB is less than that because of minor body damage, but mechanically, this 2WD XLT is SOLID!!! I love this truck!

From what I've read so far regarding this reprogramming, better to leave good enough alone sounds like good advice. I'll not get this. Seems like it does not expire so if I need it later I'll consider it. But not now.
