F150 Issues
Yesterday I added some oil to my 99 f150 6 cylinder
I forgot to put the oil cap back on and drove to work. On my way there, a few miles down the road my truck started sputtering like it was missfiring. I didnt think to much of it at the time. on the way home it was acting normal for the first few miles then it started sputtering again. I pulled into a parking lot and went to check the oil again and noticed the cap wasn't on and put it on. The sputtering stopped for a while then the check engine light started flashing. that happened for about thirty seconds the didnt come back on. So i drove it some more to see if putting the cap back on would fix the problem. about twenty minutes later the check engine light came on and stayed on. This morning i went to my local auto parts dealer and they checked for the codes. cylinder 3 gave a misfire and something about a clutch sensor. I never had any problems with the clutch and still don't. I replaced the spark plug on cylinder 3. It drove fine for about a mile then it started sputtering again. the check engine light went out by itself and hasnt come back on. I don't know what it could be.
