Default Ain't starting.

And it's all my fault.
My pretty truck has been sitting for a couple of months without being started. Yeah, I realize it's a stupid thing to do (or rather, not do.)
Anyway, what do you suppose is the problem? Starter?
She grinds, but does not turn over.
Use laymen's terms, please. I'm female and not afraid to get dirty, but I don't know the big words, lol.

And in case you're wondering, I can do car work. Changed my mother's water pump and my own master cylander on a diffferent car.

starter solenoid not engaging fully to flywheel/flexplate or it could be your battery not having enough amps to fully engaged starter try jumping it and see what happens..

Other possible problem is starter gear which engages when starter gets power. It might be slipping, and in this case it must be replaced (not sure if it can be purchased separately from starter).
