96 4.9 air pump
 

Air pump squealing. Anyone rerouted belt to eliminate this part? I live in south Florida and registration not subject to emissions testing. Anything else this change might effect?

It will make the truck illegal on any public road anywhere, regardless of local inspections. But air pumps weren't used in '96. Check the VIN & build date as this caption explains:
