4wd not engaging question
New to the site. I read several posts on 4WD issues but none are my exact trouble. My 2005 f150 4WD is not engaging. I don't even here the TC clunk in low range. No noise or clicking or grinding from the front wheels either. I was leaning toward the acuaters. Maybe 1 is sticking? I read one bad one could cause the other not to work, but shouldn't I hear the TC go into gear in low range? All was working fine a month ago but took a dump last weekend launching my boat. Thanks for any help. Cudda

I have a 2006 f150 fx4. Mine did the same thing. I was told to tap on the actuator on the back of the transfer case lightly. It worked on mine. I think they will stick if not used to often. Hope that helps you out.

Hey man mine doesn't work either. My 4hi light doesn't come on and when i switch it to 4low the light flashes and I hear a click. I have the same model year and trim as Ron55 and was wondering if his did the same thing.

My light wasn't coming on either. After some light tapping on the acuator everything started working. Now I make sure I run it in 4H at least once a week to work(10 miles). Good luck.

yeah my 4hi works fine but my 4low won't engage, and my traction control light comes on. but if i give it the gas it'll take off when it tries to shift up. i think it's a problem with the actuator

Thanks guys, I just crawled under my 2005 with my trusty hammer...
And tapped the front actuators and also the TC motor. Slammed that puppy in 4WD and all is working fine. I'm heading down to the hunting camp to feed my hounds so I'll take it off road a bit and make it work like it was made too! Zoom Zoom. Cudda
