Hello,


I have a tranny problem on my 98 F150 5.4L with a 4R70W transmission it happens when I go to pass or try to kickdown to a lower gear my engine will redline with no response from the transmission almost like it is in neutral

any help would be appreciated

 

Hmmm damn I am not a tranny guy, lol. What happens when you do it manually?

 

manually it does fine I was actually thinking of going with a floor shifter if I can find one

 

sounds like your kickdn. linkage has to be adjusted, You may have to pull the pan and check to see if the kckdn. arm is in the rite location. looking up in the tranny, there is an arm on the pass. side that sets in between 2 fingers. Make sure this is in position before going any farther.
