2018 F150 Slip/Bump from rear end
I just recently purchased a 2018 F150 XLT 5.0L super crew FX4 5.6 'bed. It has 2300 miles on it. I have noticed kind of thump/clunk noise coming from the rear end that started around 1800 miles when starting from a stop. I did some research and appears that it is probably the slip yoke and the splines need to be greased. It seems to me, based on my research it was more common in the 2011-2014 years. Anyone have this issue on their new 2018? I called the dealer they said they have heard of this, not specifically with the new ones, they claim it's not hurting anything and its "normal." I say that's a bunch of crap!! The service guy said they can grease it, but it will eventually just push the grease out. I plan on addressing it at the first oil change. I couldn't find any TSB's on it. Any input or feedback would be great. Kind of disappointed since it is brand new truck that had 50k sticker. Thanks for your help.

Alright, there are numerous threads on this and it’s hard to know exactly which bump you have without driving it first hand. I can speculate that you have the slip yoke bump but that’s all it is, speculation. You can either make an appt with your dealership or re grease the rear driveshaft slip yoke and see if that solves the problem. Hope this helped some
