2018 F150 5.0 Sport mode surge
First thread here. I've had my truck about 6 weeks now and on Sunday I decided to take the highway for a quick trip into town. I was merging and getting pinched behind a slow merger and a fast semi. Luckily I was in Sport mode and had more than enough to get myself out of trouble but when I took my foot off the accelerator, the truck seem to continue to surge and then gradually settle back done to a reasonable highway speed. Is this a trait of the 10 speed transmission? Total event took about maybe 3-5 seconds but it surprised me. I just want to know if this is normal or is it something I should have checked.
Thanks!

I think what you're referring to by surging, might be the truck revving high? When in "sport mode" the truck will hold the gear for a longer period of time. When you hit the gas to pass someone it will downshift and possibly sit in that gear for 3-4 seconds. This is normal. If you were in normal drive mode, the truck wont hold the gear and sound like that.

Hey thanks for that confirmation. It didn't seem like something was wrong I had just never experienced that before. Cool option now that I know to expect it. Thanks for the quick reply.
