2018 f 150 oil ??????

I posted a grenaded engine that was on this page. Failed filter that sent bits of filter paper through the oiling system, starved it of oil and it wrecked a 5.0. Most are just tears though. One guy had a failed filter on his 3.5 ecoboost onug is his username. He did a used oil analysis and nothing was out of the ordinary. So it depends on how bad it rips, how long it’s in use and many other factors. I just refuse to use them after all the ones I’ve cut open and all the other reports. There is a lot of them! Much better filters are out there that do the job better.

All API GF-5 motor oils are limited in their additive packages... zinc, phosphorous, etc. so there is very little difference in protection between the Mobil's, Pennzoil's, others. Look at the back of the bottle for the American Petroleum Institutes label and what it means. Ford is not going to put garbage in their vehicles.
When the quantity of additives is restricted the quality of the base oil must be improved to meet performance standards. This is where a skilled engineer can use synthetic techniques to make up the difference. But just because the synthetic label is no assurance that a skilled engineer was involved.
