I do not think it would have hurt at all , but I had second thoughts . I just threw 12 bucks out that I paid for the K/N filter .

They are all the same size right? They are just built to "last" different mileages?
Size depends on engine. Quality in materials and workmanship are what's key and Motorcraft is proven reliable.

Edit: I run Mobile 1 full syn and a Motorcraft filter and have from oil change #1. Change it every 5k whether it needs it or not. Just a good round number to remember.

According to this video, a tonneau cover IS more efficient.

I only had to watch it once.

unless I missed it somewhere you did not say what engine you had. If you are driving a 3.5 ecoboost you should be using a 5-30 weight oil not 5-20. So I assume you have a 5 liter.

never mind I just found where you said it was a 5 liter

He's talking about their oil filter. You're talking about their air filters. Funny though that K&N's other products are being affected because of the hype show they built around their air filters.

K&N's oil filter is probably one of the common cheap oil filters, but with a K&N label on it.

filter media, construction, anti drainback valves and a lot of other factors come into play with an oil filter. K&N oil filters arenít particularly good. K&N air filters are also known to allow dust into the engine, which is what people are mentioning in this thread, with silicates showing up in oil analysis.

The 2014 Ram I traded had a 1 MPG difference in the summer time , I do not know how this F 150 will do might be the same open or closed up . I did have a Motor Craft filter rust around the seem on my Crown Vic Police car , I was cruising along and could see what looked and smelled like an oil blow buy or something, parked it and saw the oil under the car ,caught in time . I have run Motor craft oil and filters in my Ford since 1977 I just a changed combo with the new stuff .2018 F 150 5.0 6inch lift , Fuel wheels , Weston step bars , Flairs painted to match , Magma Red. all done at a dealer that does them every day , all smooth and no problems . looks like it came that way.
