Don't put in a K&N filter unless you want to dust your motor. If you do decide to put in these worthless filters, make sure you do oil analyses and stop using it when your silica readings go through the roof.

I was going to get the NAPA Gold , and then saw the K/N on the shelf . K/N has been a leading name . now Iam thinking to change it . I do change oil more than I need to .

They are a horrible filter. Let's too much dust past it. I put one on a Suburban years ago before I knew better. Threw it in the trash.

Why not use a Motorcraft filter, they are a good filter, Ford spec, and they are not expensive.

How much oil will run out if I just get another filter , I do have a Mobil one filter here . I made a small round tray to slide under the filter to catch the oil when I loosen it up , not a lot came out , I had the oil out of the motor , then did the filter . I can do a quick switch and then add some . .

Well I got to thinking on this and also read a few post on 5.0 2018 using some oil , I have not run mine much yet . I just went out and pulled the K/N off pitched it . I did read some made in China stuff on them . I had a Mobil 1 Extended performance filter M1 212 A I put on . it will have to work with that filter and oil combo now . I do change at around 6000 miles or so

Super newb question, but does it matter what oil filter you get? (in terms of size, etc)
They are all the same size right? They are just built to "last" different mileages?
