It appears that I was down 2qts or so. No warning indicator lights anywhere. One would think being down more than a quart would trigger a warning.

Anyone else have a motor consuming oil at fairly quick rate? Maybe it wasn't filled up properly at the factory in the first place? Dunno.

My 2013 Mustang 5.0 would drink about a half quart every few weeks or so but I beat on it a good bit. This 2018 has been treated kindly, so far, but seems to be set on drinking even more oil. Hopefully its just the new motor working itself in and usage will normalize at some point.

Im in the same boat here. 2018 5.0. Just under 6k miles and i have added 4 qts total. I added 2qts at 2 different times. Getting its first oil change tomorrow. Its time to start documenting everything. Really disapointed, first new truck. First the whistling @1800rpm then the rattle when cold decelerating and now this.

. I took truck in and they changed PVC valve and did an oil change they paid for. And all looks good. Around 1100 miles on the oil change. Not using oil anymore. Also they did tell me that they were having a issue with some trucks with 5.0 motor. Told me today that to go another 1000 miles and call him back. Not to worried anymore. I do have it documented thanks

Good to hear . I have read that the pcv could be the problem. I might just throw a new pcv in.

Bought my truck and think I got a 7 yr 100,000 warranty that we paid for.

When the 5.0 gets like 4500 miles on it.
We make a appointment with the dealer and take it in and have the oil Changed.
And let them check everything else.

Used to always work on my own vehicles all my life.

Now I just have the dealer to do it.
Not worried about saving the extra money.

If it runs low on oil and the motor goes bad.
Ford has on record that I brought it in and they changed the oil.
They will be the ones paying for the repair.
They tell me the air filter is very dirty or the wiper blades needs replaced.
The Ol says take care of it.

Default Hey

They changed my pvc valve and everything is going good don’t know how your filters got that dirty unless you on a dirt most of the time. My trucks oil dipstick didn’t have oil on it either and it was 4 to 5 qts low also I attached the bulletin that Ford put out

Currently at 2300 miles, no oil consumption. Running perfect.

I'm running Shell's new Rotella for "Gas Trucks" 5w-20 as I wanted a full synthetic vs Motorcraft's Blend.
Shell's new 'Gas Truck' Rotella meets the new Ford oil spec (WSS-M2C945-B1)
How many miles did you have when you had your first pull change?
