2018 5.0 dipstick issue
Got about 1300 miles on my new 2018 5.0 and decided to just do a quick check of the oil. Pulled the dipstick out, looked fine, went to put it back in, and it really didn't want to down the tube.
For one, the dipstick seems super flimsy, and its pretty long, so the resistance putting it in just made it bend like a slinky and I couldn't get much push behind it. I just used my other hand at the top of the dipstick tube to guide/push it in, but it took some effort and was not a smooth operation. Is that normal?

on my 2015 nissan frontier the dipstick has to be oriented correctly, 180 off and it wont go in , super flimsy/springy stainless. may be the same for 5.0 line the dip stick up exactly as it came out.

Mine was like this. I say was because it is now smooth as butter. Turning the dipstick 180 does not make a difference on the 5.0.
When mine was new it was exactly like that. Had to feed it in with one hand right at the dipstick tube, and hold the other end of the dipstick with my opposite hand.
My truck is a 2015 and I have done 5 oil changes, and checked the oil 50 times, now the dipstick is smooth.
It was almost like it needed to "wear in".
