2017 3.5L Timing Chain: Does ford replace with better/redesigned parts?
So my 2017 3.5L is going in for the timing chain fix, at 40K it's still under warranty. Is ford truly fixing it with different/better/redesigned components, or are they the same parts? If they are the same parts, and the fix doesn't fix the underlying cause, then I should expect another possible timing chain replacement somewhere in the 90k to 125k range, right? I mean chain-stretch is chain-stretch, right? The same part under same conditions will generally react in the similar manner. Or, does the fix they do use re-designed components that solve the issue? I feel like I should be able to get 200k out of a motor if cared for properly. What have people's experiences been regarding the problem coming back?
Thanks!

Should be the same parts I would think. If Ford had better parts they would put them in at the factory.

What were the symptoms that prompted you to take your truck in for this, and how long did it take them to diagnose and acknowledge the issue? My ‘17 3.5 eb has about a 2-4 second rattle on most, but not all, cold starts. Almost sounds like a diesel engine. Wondering if it’s the same thing.
