Default 2015 F150 6 speed transmission CLUNKING

Hello,
I have a 2015 SuperCab 4x4 5.0 with the 6 speed transmission. I have owned it since new and now have 86,000 miles.
The transmission worked perfect at first and then somewhere along the line it started to CLUNK when downshifting into 4th gear!
This is normally when driving slowly in town about 30-35 mph....
Upshifts are fine.......fast downshifts are fine too.
I just had the transmission serviced at my favorite and trusted transmission shop. First service on this transmission. They said it was all clean and filter normal and the test driver said clunking was normal, or not abnormal.
Said there were no software updates and they didn't see any reason to flash the software.....whatever that means.
Just putting this out there for others. Would like to hear thoughts on this topic.
Thanks
Bob

My old 2009 did this regularly until I installed a 5-star tune. My 2016, so far, doesn't show any of these behaviors.

My 2011 seems to have the same problem over the last six months. It’s way out of warranty. Is there anything I could buy to get the transmission flashed and possibly up to the latest Ford firmware for it? I’d rather own the tool then pay the dealership And be able to do it again.

I see tuners out there that apply their own tool, but having my only copy of stock tune sitting in a tuner scares me.

Update: After a transmission service at 86K and given a couple weeks of driving, the clunking has subsided considerably. In fact it is not not clunking. Clearly I am on guard feeling very little thing now.....but the heavy clunk is much better.
I would highly recommend more frequent transmission services than FORD recommends....my transmission shop recommends 30 to 40K between.
Even though when they serviced my 86K unit, they said the fuild was not dirty and no debri was in the filter........so the fluid must break down!
Good Luck.
