Default 2014 Possible Transmission Issue

I have a 2014 XLT SuperCrew EcoBoost 3.5L V6 with ~140k miles on it. I have noticed an issue where when I'm in 5th gear usually going about 40mph trying to maintain speed, the truck starts to vibrate hard almost like I'm driving over a rumble strip. As soon as I let off the gas the vibration stops immediately. I usually give the gas a quick punch and the vibration does not come back in that moment, but it usually comes back if I'm in 5th gear again just trying to maintain speed. I can be going 80 mph on the highway and the vibration does not happen. My thought is transmission, but I'm dreading that answer. Anyone have any other thoughts? Thanks in advance for any thoughts/help!

Scott

Thanks for your quick response! My mechanic did look at the torque converter a few months ago when I needed new ignition coils, and they said the torque converter was in good shape, but maybe if they look at it again with the symptoms still present they'll think differently. Thanks!

Thanks for your response! I will definitely have the mechanic check these things!
