2013 F150 5.0 - fuel or sending unit issue
2013, 5.0, XLT, 4x4, 4 dr. F150, 115,000 miles. New fuel pump installed...it had issue with truck dying when coming to a stop; it also had no fuel pressure for about 5-6 seconds while cranking on a hot engine (worked fine when cold). the problems came back after a couple weeks so we dropped the fuel tank again and diagnosed as a bad connection between fuel pump and sending unit. fixed connection and worked fine for a week. same issue started again with long cranking time before the engine fired...and after a day or two it starting dying at stops again. replaced fuel pump again thinking we got a bad pump. worked great for a couple weeks and now it is having the same cranking issue as before (only when the engine is hot)...turns over for about 6 seconds before firing. it runs fine after that but i fear it'll start dying at stops again as it did previously. another bad fuel pump? why would it run fine for a while...or on a cold engine...and then have issues.
mechanic is also stumped...says may be a bad batch of fuel pumps? seems strange...
vacuum line issue perhaps?
this happened to anyone else?
