It's not louder, same sound but it speeds up.. If you listen very closely you can hear the "tick tick tick" in all videos..

Every exhaust manifold leak I've experienced over the years on any vehicle gets louder under load, such as when accelerating. Having said that, and not being familiar with the EB engines, I'll pass on guessing from this point.

The noise definitely sounds like it's exhaust related. It's possible it's related to the turbos and or the waste gate. This might sound a little "old school" but you might get a 3ft. piece of hose and use it like a stethoscope to help pinpoint the sound.

So why do you not have warranty? a '12 with 27k miles should be covered. Unless you modded something like adding tuner or what ever else you may have done or not done like proper routine maintenance. I doubt it cratered just because. Something has been done to the truck to void the warranty.

I had a chip in it, but that doesn't explain the tick? Safe to say I won't be putting the chip in the new motor

Damn dude, I was seriously thinking about getting a tuner, but I for sure am NOT doing that after hearing you're horror story. I feel bad for ya. Nice truck tho. I can't belive that they wouldn't cover it, when you really think about it, just cause you had a tune on it to tweak the trucks tow, economy, oversize wheels, shift points to make the truck run like it should doesent mean it went out because of it. How can they prove that that's why it went out because of the tuner? That's the part I don't get. I doubt ford engineers were dumb to max the truck out stock that it couldn't take additional power.
